The DIS PTO recently updated its Comment Policy in an effort to promote increased community involvement. The baseline policy has been updated to allow parents and teachers to make blog posts as they see fit. Please review the comment policy and feel free to start posting about school related topics the next time you have the opportunity. A primer on making posts will be forthcoming but, in the meantime, once you log in, you should see a bar across the top of the page that includes a "New" button. You can use this button to start writing a new blog post. If you would like some additional information on WordPress, a great resource is the WordPress Codex. Feel free to comment if you have any questions!

2012 Gala Donor Listing

November 11, 2011

Several local businesses and individual donors have provided support for the upcoming Gala this year.  Be sure to check out our donor list while you are here.

Welcome!

The Dallas International School (DIS) Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a close-knit community of parents and educators who hope to give their students a strong foundation for life as global citizens.

In order to increase communication among teachers and parents, the PTO has been working hard to update this website.  Users are required to create accounts as a security measure. In order to create an account, click any of the additional links above and you will be redirected to a registration page. Please do include your real first and last name so that our adminstrators will be able to verify your identity through the school’s records. Also, if you do not receive notification of your account being approved within 24 hours, please use the “Contact Us” link from the “About” menu to let us know that you should have been approved as we may have been unable to locate your information in the school’s records.  After creating your account, you will be able to access additional information related to the Dallas International School Parent Teacher Organization.

Once you do create an account, you will be able to link your account to your Facebook account if you choose to do so.  This feature allows for some social media integration and, as a bonus, you won’t have to remember additional passwords!

If you have trouble creating a new account, please use the “Contact Us” link from the “About” menu and send us an email.

As we continue updating our PTO website, we want your suggestions.

  • What would you most like to see on our DIS PTO site?
  • Have any ideas on a catchy name that we might use for our site?
  • Are there other sites that you think we should use as inspiration for design, functionality, etc.?

This site is an opportunity to help us get the word out about our school to other potential parents and teachers. Let’s work together to make it great!

Send us your suggestions by commenting below.

Merci!

let’s put some fun happenings on here….as well as information for our community. I love the PTO FB page because it is so accessible – and a familiar format. It would alos be great to have information posted each day about the school, teachers, classes and what is going on with them. What about a newcomer page, especially for those new to the school and new to Dallas? A babysitting board? State your location, age of child and preferred night so we can connect you with a high schooler? community service opportunities for the kids, starting in Middle School?

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the comment policy and feel free to start making posts pertaining to DIS-related topics the next time you get the chance. Thank you for your interest and willingness to increase your involvement with the DIS PTO community!
